Geometrical numbering

This option specifies the parameters for geometrical renumbering. Open the Geometrical Renumbering dialog, by clicking Parameters in the Numbering dialog, after you select the Geometrical numbering option.

To perform geometrical renumbering of nodes or objects in a structure:

  1. In the Numbering dialog:
    1. Select the nodes or objects, whose numbers you want to change.

  2. In the Geometrical Renumbering dialog:

    1. Specify the order of the global coordinate system axes.

Selecting the XYZ order, means that the numbering is changed first for the axis of the global coordinate system, and then for axis Y, and finally for axis Z.

    2. Specify the step for numbering nodes for all system axes.
    3. Specify the step for numbering objects for all system axes.
    4. Specify the spacing, which is the distance along which Robot generates the numbers for the nodes or objects increasing the numbering by a defined step. This option is related to the Omit spacings where there are no structure elements option.

For example, the distance between 2 levels is 9m (numbering at the first level starts with 100), and the spacing equals 4m, then, assuming that the numbering step is 100, the numbering at the next level begins at 300 (with the Omit spacings where there are no structure elements cleared).

    5. Decide whether to disregard empty spacings (spacing where there are no structure elements).

If the spacing between successive levels or frames is, for instance, 10m, and you define the spacing as 4m, then, with the Omit spacings where there are no structure elements cleared, the successive frames are numbered in the way specified in the node or object numbering step field. If the Omit spacings where there are no structure elements is selected, the numbering increases every 4 meters of the defined spacing.

    6. Decide whether the new numbering should agree with the axes direction. This option lets you determine the direction of the changes in numbering. If the options are selected, numbering increases according to the orientation of the relevant axis. If the options are cleared, numbering increases in the direction opposite to the orientation of the relevant axis.
    7. Decide how Object sorting is to be performed. Specifies a point belonging to an object (its middle, beginning, or end) that is used for sorting.

These examples show how to use the Geometrical renumbering dialog.
