Slab and Shell Reinforcement - Reinforcement Maps

This tab is in the Slab and Shell Reinforcement dialog and presents and modifies maps of reinforcement, deflection, cracking and stiffness.

Select to display a map divided into rectangles (dimensions defined in the Grid step fields). The maximum reinforcement will be adopted for the entire rectangle.

To delete a line in the table, highlight it, and press the Delete key. To add a new line, indicate its location and press the Insert key. Based on values in the s column, the average value of the selected line and the line immediately above it are calculated. Right clicking in the table will offer the following commands.

FE results

. A regular reinforcement map will display.

. A deflection map will display.

. Short-term cracking will display.

. Long-term cracking will display.

. A stiffness map will display.

Two selection options are available in which the FE results field will be presented.

For required reinforcement. The map will present results for the calculated required reinforcement.

For provided reinforcement after verification. The map will present results as follows.

At the bottom of the dialog there are options for steering with maps.

The first option allows steering with a grid. You can define a grid step (a dimension of the grid cell) and decide whether a grid should be displayed (the Mesh option in the Display field). Click Generation for automatic generation of grids and take note that when a grid of fine cells is generated, zones will be small, however, a number of zones may grow.

The Display field displays maps, values, descriptions and the main reinforcement direction on the screen. Clicking allows determining a map value or description for indicated points (note that Values and/or Description have to be selected). To present a map description/values on the screen at a selected point, follow these steps.

  1. Select Values and/or Description in the Display field
  2. Click .
  3. In the graphic viewer, indicate points at which a map of description/values should be presented.
  4. Click to complete.
