You can use the pressure networks features to generate 3D models of pressure networks, such as water transmission systems.
Path-Based Pressure Networks
- When creating a path-based pressure network, you select locations to define the path and the pressure pipes and bends are created with respect to grade and cover.
- Modifying the path will update the locations, lengths and angles of the connected pressure network parts.
- You can add or remove bends and IPs along a pipe run and add branch fittings at the intersections of pipe runs.
Pressure networks created with the original commands are referred to as part-based pressure networks. In Civil 3D 2021, you can continue to create and edit part-based pressure networks or you can convert them to path-based pressure networks by using the Create Pipe Run from Parts command.
The workflow when creating pressure networks consists of selecting locations in the drawing to define a pipe run along which, pipes and bend fittings generate. You can define and model a pipe run in both plan and profile views. One or more pipe runs generated from common part lists join to comprise an independent pressure network.
