To Determine Symbol Block Names

There are two ways to determine the block name of an existing symbol:

METHOD A

1. Insert the symbol from the AutoCAD Electrical toolset icon menu.
2. Use the AutoCAD LIST command to display the block name.
3. Add the appropriate library path as a prefix to this block name to obtain the path to the ".dwg" file of the symbol. The default library path is \Users\Public\Documents\Autodesk\Acade {version}\libs\{library}\ .

METHOD B

1. Click Schematic tabInsert Components panelInsert Components drop-downIcon Menu. Find
2. Locate the component on the icon menu.
3. Hover the mouse over the component. The block name is shown in the tooltip.
