To Modify the Elevation of HVAC Parts and Ducts

  1. Change to a side or isometric view.
  2. Select the part or duct segment, and click the elevation grip to use.
  3. If the object is connected to another object, choose an action:
    To… Maintain connectivity Then…
    adjust only duct fittings and segments and retain the current locations of parts yes proceed to the next step.
    adjust all objects, including parts yes press Ctrl.
    break connectivity no press Ctrl twice.
  4. Specify the new elevation:
    To… then…
    specify the new overall elevation relative to a point on the part or segment (for example, the centerline) press Tab as many times as needed to activate the appropriate input field, and enter the resulting dimension. Press Enter.
    raise or lower the elevation by a specified dimension Drag the cursor to begin raising or lowering the elevation. Press Tab as many times as needed to activate the appropriate input field, and enter the relative dimension. Press Enter.
    Note: Elevation grips are not available on flex or sloping duct segments.
    Tip: To specify elevation in the Properties palette, select the enter the elevation in Placement Elevation. The software adjusts connected fittings and segments to maintain connectivity, but retains the locations of parts.
