Objects

Shows a summary of the objects selected for the new component view. The number of objects selected shows the number of lines, arcs and circles selected for the component view. The number of occurrences shows the number of folders and component views you have selected to nest under the component view being created.

Hides the dialog box so you can pick objects for the component view from model space. To pick an elemental geometry continue clicking the geometry until you see its name in the tooltip. If you are picking another component view or folder, continue clicking an object that belongs to the component view or folder, until you see the component view or folder name in the tooltip.

Insertion point

Contains options to specify the insertion point of the new instance of the component view. This option is visible only if you are inserting an instance of a component view.

Specify on screen

Preview

Shows a preview of the component being created or inserted.

Annotation view tab

Contains the options required to create or insert annotation views.

Component

Contains options to select between creating a new annotation view, creating another instance of an existing component view. You can also create additional views for an annotation view.

Create annotation view of

Selects the component to create an annotation view of, from a list of available components.

Annotation view name

Provides a space for you to define a name for the annotation view.

Add a new instance of existing annotation view

Enables options for creating a new instance of an annotation view that you have already created. Select the annotation view to create the new instance of.

Insert additional views into

Enables options for inserting the remaining views of an existing annotation view. Select the annotation view from a list of annotation views for which all views have not been created as yet.
Note:

When you add the additional view to this instance, all other instances of the annotation view (if any exist) are updated automatically.

Hides the dialog box so you can pick the annotation view instance from the drawing area.

Placement

Contains options to specify where and how the annotation view is to be placed in the drawing area.

Model space

Scale calculation

Contains options to scale the annotation view prior to placement.

Paper size

Sets a paper size to make the system suggest an appropriate scale. The paper size you set here is only meant for scale calculation. It is not the actual paper size. For example, if your paper size is A3 and you want to place two annotation views within the paper, you can set the paper size to A4 (because A4 is half the size of A3) and let AutoCAD Mechanical toolset suggest the appropriate scale.

View scale

Sets the scale to use for the annotation view. The recommended scale for the given paper size is indicated by appending <Calculated> to the end of the recommended scale.
