Creating a Cutoff feature

To create a Cutoff feature:

  1. Click the Features step in the Steps panel.
  2. In the From Dimensions section, select Cutoff and click Next to open the New Feature - Dimensions page.
    • Chamfer/Radius — Optionally add a chamfer or a radius to the Cutoff feature. Select Chamfer or Radius from the menu and enter the value.

    • Diameter — Enter the (outer) diameter.

    • Inner Diameter — Enter the inner diameter.

    • Width — Enter the width of the Cutoff tool.

    • Transfer to sub spindle — Select this option if you want to transfer the part to the sub spindle. Click Transfer Parameters to display the Transfer Parameters dialog, where you can enter the Grab distance, Feed distance, and Pull distance for the transfer.
  3. Click Next to open the New Feature - Location page. Enter the Z coordinate as the left edge of the Cutoff feature.
  4. Click Next to open the New Feature - Strategies page.
  5. Click Next to open the New Feature - Operations page.
  6. Click Next to open the New Feature - Default Tool page.
  7. Click Next to open the New Feature - Feed/Speed page.
  8. Click Next to open the New Feature - Tool Usage page.
  9. Click Next to open the New Feature - Summary page.
  10. Click Finish to create the feature and exit the wizard or click Back to return to previous pages.
  11. You can edit the feature later.
