A
Rapid feature is used to rapid along the length of a curve to the start point of the next feature. You can use
Rapid features to quickly move around a part using curves to avoid possible collision with fixtures.
FeatureCAM programs a
Rapid in a similar way to a
Side feature. The wizard pages are similar, but fewer options are needed.
To create a 2-axis Rapid feature:
- Create the curve that defines the shape of the feature.
- Click the
Features
step in the
Steps panel to open the
New Feature wizard.In the
2 Axis section, select
Rapid, then click
Next to open the
New Feature - Curves page. Select the curve(s) for the feature.
- Click
Next to open the
New Feature - Machining Direction page.
- Click
Next to open the
New Feature - Location page.
- Click
Next to open the
New Feature - Dimensions page.
- Click
Next to open the
New Feature - Operations page.
- Click
Next to open the
New Feature - Cutting Data page.
- Click
Next to open the
New Feature - Summary page.
- Click
Finish to create the feature and exit the wizard or click
Back to return to previous pages.
Note: You can
edit the feature later.
