DKU 16.0.0 contains the following improvements:
- Removes support for CentOS 7.4 and HP Z440, both deprecated.
- Adds support for CentOS 8.2.
- Updates Nvidia drivers to 450.102.04
- Support for HFS+ and APFS on CentOS 8.2. The recommend usage is reading HFS+ or APFS volumes, not writing to these file systems.
Note: The DKU doesn't install the driver required for the ATTO FastFrame 3 adapter. You must manually download and install the driver from ATTO website. Refer to Flame 2022 help for more information.
Simplified xorg.conf
The DKU no longer overwrites the xorg.conf file, editing it only to define the following screens:
- Main display
- 2nd GPU (Background Reactor)
The first time you install the DKU, it also removes the following sections:
- Screen per monitor model / graphic card
- Screen resolutions
- Custom timings
These changes allow you to configure your displays using KDE (CentOS 7.6) and GNOME (CentOS 8.2) Display Utility or Nvidia utility,
nvidia-settings.
If you need the DKU to overwrite xorg.conf:
- Run the DKU with the new option
--forcexorg. It replaces the existing xorg.cong with the version from the DKY.
Note: The option
--keepxorg is deprecated.
You can find the new xorg.conf templates here:
- Flame Family installer:
/etc/X11/xorg.conf.flame.<version>
- DKU installer:
/etc/X11/xorg.conf.DKU-<dku version>
Display Settings in CentOS
To change your display settings in CentOS, you now use Display Settings utility in KDE (CentOS 7.6) and GNOME (CentOS 8.2). You can also use the NVidia Settings application.
The Flame Setup
xorg.conf tab contains only the UI Bit Depth option (8/10-bit).
