3ds Max Installation

Some aspects of the Autodesk 3ds Max software product installation process are unique to the 3ds Max product.

Important: Before you choose to install the 3ds Max product, verify your system meets the minimum system requirements and your hardware meets the minimum requirements to run the product, and make sure to read the Release Notes.

Note: Have your 11-digit product serial number and five-digit Product Key handy (as you need to enter these during the installation process).

Important: If you install 3ds Max to a custom location, ensure that the path does not include any Chinese or Japanese double‐byte characters.

Note: Autodesk® Composite is not included in the 3ds Max product installation. You can download Composite from the Autodesk App Store.

Network deployment specific to 3ds Max

In general, you can create a network deployment for 3ds Max using the same method used for most Autodesk products, as outlined in Creating a network deployment.

Important: If you are an Enterprise or Token Flex customer, there is an additional step for network deployment

If you are an Enterprise or Token Flex customer, there are additional steps for network deployment:

1. Navigate to the Image folder and open Deployment.xml.
2. Locate <Property name="ADLM_PRODKEY" value="128M1"/>.
3. Change the value to your company's key.
