To Create a Texture Map

Use any image editor that creates a file in .bmp, .rle, .dib, .gif, .jfif, .jpg or .jpeg, .pcx, .png, .tga, or .tiff format.

Before proceeding, review how to manage Material and Appearance libraries in the project file so that they are accessible to your projects.

  1. Create a file that is at least 96 pixels square.
  2. Create a texture.
Note: If you want an aligned repeating pattern, it is helpful to research the creation of seamless textures online. Save the completed texture map in a folder that is part of the current project, such as a project workspace, a local folder, a workgroup, or a shared library location.
