Form tolerance value must be smaller

Form tolerance value must be smaller than location or orientation control

This message is shown when there is a flatness control applied to a planar surface that is constrained with an offset dimension without an explicitly specified tolerance (Tolerance Type = Nominal). Whenever refining the form of a planar surface with a flatness control, it is good practice to explicitly specify the offset tolerance.

The specified location or orientation control for the feature implies a form control for the feature. When you explicitly specify a form control, the tolerance value for that control should be less than the specified location or orientation control for the feature.

To resolve the issue, do one of the following:

Form tolerance value must be smaller than related form

This message is displayed when a form tolerance or profile tolerance already controls the same aspect of form as this form tolerance. The specified form tolerance value must be less than the form or profile tolerance value in the previous segment.

Form tolerance value must be smaller than size tolerance

This message means that the form tolerance value (circularity, cylindricity, flatness, straightness) must be smaller than the size dimension tolerance on a feature of size. Edit the tolerance values as required to resolve this error.
