Synchronous Belts Component Generator

The Synchronous Belt Drives Component Generator is for design and analysis of mechanical power transmissions for industrial use. It is a modeling tool for a variety of synchronous belt drives. Design and modeling tools can also be used without analysis for conveying or positioning applications.

The generator reflects just endless synchronous belts. The transmission can be planar only with all parallel pulleys' axes. No misalignment of pulleys is considered. The belt midplane is an XY plane of belt coordinate system.

The power transmission can consist from a theoretically unlimited number of pulleys. Pulleys can be teethed or flat. Each pulley can have clockwise or counterclockwise rotation based on belt position. The default rule is a clockwise direction of motion for the first pulley (driver pulley). To change the motion direction, flip the Z axis of a belt coordinate system. Pulley order is always clockwise.

The first pulley is a driver pulley. The rest of the pulleys are driven pulleys or idlers. Input power can be split among several driven pulleys by using power ratio factor of each pulley. The forces and torques are calculated accordingly. Flat pulleys are idlers.
