The symbols you can use to represent point features include imported blocks in DWG files, symbols contained in layer files (*.layer) or symbol files (*.xml), or raster images.
To style point features
- In the Display Manager, select the point feature layer to style.
- Do one of the following:
- Click

- Click Style in the Display Manager menu area.
- Double-click the icon to the left of the layer name in the Display Manager.
- Right-click the layer and click Edit Style.
- In the Style Point dialog box, specify the size context and units of measurement for the style.
- Add any desired symbols to the point style and use the graphical area to adjust their relative z-order positions.
For a compound symbol, click + to see the simple symbols that comprise it.
- Select each element in the point style and use the options below the graphical area to change its appearance.
You can import blocks in DWG files as symbols. You can also use symbols contained in layer files (*.layer) or symbol files (*.xml), or raster images (*.gif, *.jpg, *.bmp, *.png) to the symbol repository. To load such symbols, scroll to the bottom of the Select Symbol list and click Load.
- Click Advanced to control how point symbols are positioned relative to the point feature they represent.
- Click OK.
