You can create a raster-based surface in GeoTIFF format.
To create a surface from a point cloud
- In the command line, enter
MAPCREATEPCSURFACE.
- Click the point cloud data in the drawing. Press Enter to finish selecting objects. The
Create Surface from Point Cloud dialog box appears.
- To specify the Level of Detail, drag the cursor to where the corresponding value meets your needs.
- To filter the points used to create the surface, click the
Filter button. The
Select Allowed Classifications Dialog Box appears.
- Select one or more classifications from the list in the dialog box and Click OK.
Note: You can deselect an item by clicking it again.
- If you want to change the default file name, save location, or layer, click the ellipsis button (...). In the Save As dialog, enter your preferred data.
Note: Layer names cannot contain a period (.).
- Click OK.
AutoCAD Map 3D toolset begins to create the surface.
- When
AutoCAD Map 3D toolset is done creating the surface, it adds the surface to your map, adds a raster layer to the
Display Manager, and creates a raster connection in
Data Connect.
