Display audio on the Time Slider

An audio waveform automatically displays in the Time Slider when you import an audio file.

Tip:

To change the default color of the waveform by changing the Sound color swatch in the Color Settings (in the Animation section).

If you import more than one audio file, the Time Slider automatically switches to Use Trax Sounds mode, representing each sound file as a solid line instead of a waveform.

There are three ways you can specify which audio file displays in the Time Slider

Note: Playback speed must be set to Real-time or you are only able to hear sound while scrubbing, not during playback. To do this, right-click Maya's Time Slider and choose Real-time from the Playback Speed options.
