Edit an existing HumanIK skeleton definition

To edit an existing HumanIK skeleton definition

  1. Load a skeleton with an existing skeleton definition.
  2. In the HumanIK window (Windows > Animation Editors > HumanIK), click the Definition tab.
  3. In the Definiton tab toolbar, click to unlock the current skeleton definition.
Note: includes a HumanIK roll bone system that lets you map up to five roll bones per limb. If your existing skeleton definition has roll bones defined, and was created using an earlier version of Maya, unlocking the skeleton definition removes the roll bone assignment, letting you map bones using the roll bone views in the Definition tab window. See Character and Name Match views.
  4. Right-click the bone you want to map and select Change Assigned Bone.
  5. In the drop-down list that appears, select the name of another bone and click Ok.
