You can store sets within each other to create sub-sets. This can be useful when you want to organize less important scene elements or actions within another heading.
To create a sub-set:
- Create a set containing the objects you want in the subset.
- Select the set in the Scene browser.
- Drag it on top of a second set.
- Select Move to Set from the context menu.
The set becomes a sub-set of the second set.
When nesting sets within another set, use the
Activate Recursively option in the
Sets window to set whether or not the subsets contained within the parent set are affected by the Vis/Pick/Trs state of the parent set. For example:
- When Activate Recursively is on: Checking or unchecking the parent set means the children reflect the parent state.
- When Activate Recursively is off, checking a parent set preserves the Show/Pick/Trs state the parent was using before the parent was checked. For example, when you uncheck the parent, all children are unchecked and if you check the parent, the children use the state they had before.
Note: You cannot copy a set to another set, you can only move a set from one set to another. There is no duplication of sets.
To remove a sub-set:
- Select a sub-set in the Scene browser.
- Drag the sub-set on top of the Sets root folder.
The sub-set displays under the root folder as a regular set again.
