The Extron 3019 HS material used in the Moldflow study has already been characterized for a nonlinear response using experimental stress-strain data. After the material is characterized, a set of Ramberg-Osgood material properties are available for each environment. To use this data in the structural simulation, we simply need to select the set of properties to use. In this problem, we'll select the data corresponding to a temperature of 23° C, relative humidity of 41%, and strain rate of 0.01.
- Switch to the Material tab and click
Select Environment
().
- Make sure the default material environment for this material is selected (temperature of 23° C, relative humidity of 41%, strain rate of 0.01).
- Click OK.
- Switch back to the Home tab.
