Cable Connector

When selecting the Cable option under Type on the Connector form, the following sections are available:

• Add To Analysis: This checkbox automatically puts this cable connector under Connectors in the current Analysis branch of the tree.
• Connector Element: Allows multiple cable elements to be defined within the current Connector Name.
  • You select two end points of the connector.
• Display Options: Allows you to edit the display options of the cable connector.
• : Defines the initial cable slack.
• : Defines the initial cable tension.
• : Defines the cross sectional area of the cable.
• : Defines the moment of inertia of the cable.
• : Defines the allowable tensile stress of the cable.
• Preload:
  • Initial: This option tells the solver that is the initial preload of the cable.
  • Continuous: This option tells the solver that is the actual tensile load and remains constant.
• Materials: Must select a material from the drop-down list.
