Problem Description

For this example, you will run commands inside directory 21.

This example guides the user through the compensation workflow for Directed Energy Deposition (DED) processes. First, the simulation of a 39 layer high single bead Ti-6Al-4V component is completed. The component is shown in Figure 1, while the simulation path is depicted in Figure 2. The substrate is constrained as simply supported. The thermal and mechanical response of this process is to be calculated using Netfabb Simulation with adaptive meshing. The resulting mesh is shown in 3. After the simulation is completed, the distort_stl tool is used to produce the compensated STL file.
