Use the Holder Data dialog to view, or change, information about a machine's tool holders to control how they are displayed during Full Machine Simulation. PartMaker stores the holders you define using this dialog in the current Machine Data File (.mchdat) file.
To display this dialog, click the Holder Data button on the Machine Data dialog or the Tool Assembly dialog.
The following settings are available:
Milling Holder — Select this option if you are using a milling tool holder. This option is available only if you have Vertical Mill-Turn selected in the Machine Type list on the Machine Data dialog.
Turning Holder — Select this option if you are using a turning tool holder. This option is available only if you have Vertical Mill-Turn selected in the Machine Type list on the Machine Data dialog.
List of Holders — This area of the dialog lists the available holders. Details of the selected holder are displayed on the dialog.

The direction fields are available only when using a solid model to define a holder.
Holder Definition — Select how you want to define the holder for the machine:
Tool Extension Length — This is the length of the turning tool's shank that extends into the specified holder. This field is available only if you have Turning Holder selected.
Notes — Enter any additional information about the holder in this field.
New — Click to add a new holder by creating a copy of the holder that is selected in the List of Holders list box.
Delete — Click to delete the selected holder.
Holder Preview — Click to display a 3D preview of the holder data.
OK — Click to save any changes and close the dialog.
Cancel — Click to discard any changes and close the dialog.
