Holder database

Use the Tool Database Holder Search dialog to search for an existing tool holder to use in the tool assembly you are currently creating.

To display the Tool Database Holder Search dialog, click:

The dialog contains the following settings:

Tool list — Select the tool you want to add to the holder.

Tool Diameter — This displays the diameter of your selected tool.

Search String — Enter the characters, in the name of the tool holder, you want to find.

Search Mode — Specify how the characters in the Search String field are searched.

EqualsPowerMill searches only for holders with the same characters.

LikePowerMill searches for holders with names that include some of the characters.

Min Diameter — Select and enter a value to search for tool holders that have a diameter that is greater than the value entered.

Max Diameter — Select and enter a value to search for tool holders that have a diameter that is smaller than the value entered .

Max Length — Select and enter a value to search for tool holders that are shorter than the value entered.

Search — Click to start the search.

Reset — Click to reset the search settings.

Search Results table — The table displays the holders that meet your search settings.

Tool Assembly Preview — This displays a preview of the tool assembly.

— Click to display the Edit Database Holder dialog. Use this to assign a connection type to the selected holder.

Delete Selected Holder — Click to delete the selected holder from the tool database. If you delete a holder that is used in a tool assembly, the holder information on the tool's Tool dialog is removed.

Apply Holder — Click to apply the selected holder to the chosen tool assembly.

Tool Database Options — Click to display the Options > Tools > Database page to specify the default Tool Database settings. If a PowerMill Error is displayed, reporting that there is no connection to the database, you must register the Tool Database Server.
