Stock management

Use the Stock management page to use a stock model and specify material thickness options. This limits the toolpath to the stock model.

• Consider remaining stock — Enable this option to select a stock model and associated options.
• Stock model — Select the stock model from the list.
• Detect material thicker than — Enter a threshold value. PowerMill ignores rest material that is thinner than the specified threshold. This helps to avoid thin regions being rest machined, where the benefit of a second cut is negligible. These thin regions can be caused by cusps from the previous toolpath.
• Excess material allowance — Enter the amount of excess stock material to be considered. The toolpath expects the stock to be close to what would be left after machining with the reference tool. If there is any excess material to be considered over and above this, specify the value here.
