An option file is read by a post-processor so that the NC output can be run on a CNC machine.
When writing an NC program, you choose from option files stored locally on your PC
. The default directory is specified using
File tab >
Options >
Customise Path.
- In the
NC Program dialog, next to the
Machine Option File box, click
to display the
Select Option File dialog.
- Choose the option file from the list.
Tip: If the file is not in the list, click

to find and choose the file. Several example option files are available in
C:\Users\Public\Documents\Autodesk\Manufacturing Post Processor Utility\Generic\.
- Click
Accept.
Note: The ability to select and manage option filles stored in the cloud (known as
Posts in the Cloud) has been retired.
