Feature selection dialog

Use the Feature Selection dialog to select holes by a number of different criteria.

To display this dialog:

Note: The Feature Selection dialog is similar to the lower half of the Drilling Methods dialog.

Select by — Select how to select the required holes, from:

The remaining fields change their name depending on the option selected in the Select by list.

Minimum — Enter the minimum value of the item selected in the Select by list.

Maximum — Enter the maximum value of the item selected in the Select by list.

Text — Enter some text. This field changes depending on the item selected in the Select by list.

List of available values — Displays a list of all available values.

Tolerance — Enter a value to specify the selection tolerance.

For example, If working with some data where the holes are not well defined you may get diameters 12.34, 12.33, 12.31, 12.36. By changing the Tolerance to 0.1 you change the list to read 12.3 and 12.4. Selecting 12.3 and clicking selects the holes with diameter 12.31, 12.33, and 12.34.

Selection Filter — Displays a list of all selected values. Select a value on the left hand side and click to populate this area. These are the criteria which must be met to select a hole.

If you select a Diameter of 10.72 and a Depth of 50.8, then only those holes with a diameter of 10.72 and a depth of 50.8 are selected. However, if you select a Diameter of 10.72 and a Diameter of 19.84 then only those holes with a diameter of 10.72 or a diameter of 12.7 and a depth of 50.8 are selected.

Delete — Click to clear all the selection criteria. This removes all the entries in the list of selected values.

Component — Enables you to select by diameter or length of a particular hole component. This selects the Compound Hole and not just the hole component.

You can select all holes with one hole index and then drill to another. For example, you can select all compound holes with a diameter of 20 and a length of 5, and then drill them using another tool index with a diameter of 12 and a length of 25.

Select — Click to select all the holes that meet the selection criteria in the graphics window (the holes that meet the criteria are yellow).
