By default:
- The output file has the same name as the NC program name but a different extension.
- The file is saved in your current working directory. You can use the {project.path} parameter to save the output file in the current project directory.
You can specify the name and location of the resulting *.tap file using the NC Preferences dialog.
- From the individual NC Program menu, select Edit Selected.
- Change the Output File to a more suitable location.
- Choose the appropriate Machine Option File.
- If necessary, update the remainder of the dialog.
- Click Accept.
When you subsequently postprocess this NC program (using the Write option on the individual NC Program menu), PowerMill uses this information.
Note: You can specify the name and location when you write an NC program, but if you are writing multiple NC programs (using the Write All option) it is easier to specify the name and location of the output file before you write an NC program.
For more information see Edit Selected NC Programs dialog and Edit All NC Programs dialog.
You can define the location of the NC Program Output fileusing the PowerMill Paths dialog. Click File tab > Options > Customise Paths to display the PowerMill Paths dialog.
Note: This dialog is similar to the
Macro Paths dialog.
