To associate an option file with a machine tool

Associate an option file with a machine tool to streamline your workflow and improve simulation results.

1. Ensure you have an active machine tool.
2. Click Machine Tool tab > Option File panel > Associate, and choose an option file in the Select Option File dialog. The list is populated using the directory specified by the PowerMill Paths dialog, recently used option files, and any option files stored on the cloud.

Simulation using this machine tool is now configured to use settings from the option file.

When you specify this machine tool for an NC program, if <From Machine Tool> is displayed in the Machine Option File box, the NC program automatically selects the option file associated with the machine tool.
