The Blisks category on the Strategy Selector dialog contains the area clearance and finishing strategies required to machine a blisk or impeller.
Note: Blisk strategies are only available in PowerMill Ultimate.
The blisk strategies are:
-
Blade Finishing finish machines the blades.
-
Blisk Area Clearance rapidly removes material on a blisk or impeller.
-
Hub Finishing finish machines the hub.
-
Single Blade Finishing finish machines single blades.
Note: You must
define the geometry that makes up the individual components of the blisk or impeller before you create a blisk strategy. Each component must be grouped into a single
Level or
Set.
Blisk machining strategies work only with:
- Spherical tools (ball nosed, tapered-spherical, and spherical-tipped disc tools).
- A cylindrical symmetric and untrimmed hub.
- A cylindrical symmetric and untrimmed shroud that must match the blade (and splitter) profile.
- At least 2 blades.
- If there is a splitter blade, it must extend as far radially as the left and right blade.
- The fillet must be in the same level (or set) as the blade.
The common tabs are described in common toolpath strategy pages.
