The Strategy Selector dialog displays the range of strategies you can select to create the toolpaths. When you select a strategy, PowerMill displays the Strategy dialog, which enables you to specify the parameters and requirements of the toolpath.
To display the Strategy Selector dialog:
- Click Home tab > Create Toolpaths panel > Toolpaths;
- Click Toolpath tab > Create panel > Tool; or
- In the Explorer, right-click Toolpaths and select Create toolpath.
The strategies are organised into categories, which includes a Favourites category, and any number of custom categories that you can create to organise your own custom strategies.
The dialog contains the following:
— Enter a term to search in a category.
Import strategy — Click to display the Import strategy dialog so you can import a strategy from your PC or network into the current PowerMill project.
To reuse an imported strategy in the future, use one of the following procedures so it is available from the Strategy Selector dialog.
Add category — Click to display the PowerMill Paths dialog so you can create a new custom category to store your custom strategies. The dialog also enables you to reorder and delete custom categories from the Strategy Selector dialog.

Favourite — Toggle the star next to a strategy to add (or remove 
) it from the Favourites folder. PowerMill also displays your favourite strategies in the Favourites gallery on the Home tab.
