Creating toolpaths in an NC program

This example shows you how to automatically add a toolpath in an NC program, on creation of the toolpath.

  1. From the NC Program context menu, select Create NC Program. This displays the NC Program dialog.
  2. In the Name field enter a name for the NC program, for example, NCProg; and then, since this example uses default values, click Accept. PowerMill creates the NC program and activates it.

For more information on this dialog see NC Program dialog.

  3. Create a toolpath, for example, a raster toolpath, and name it appropriately, for example, Raster.

PowerMill places the new toolpath in the toolpath list and also adds it to the currently active NC program.

Any subsequent toolpaths you create are automatically added to the active NC Program. Deactivate the NC program to stop PowerMill from adding toolpaths by default to the NC program.

You can drag and drop existing toolpaths into NC programs even if the NC program is not active.
