Non-uniform scaling

Non-uniform scaling resizes selected objects in a non-uniform manner, allowing you to choose the scaling to be applied for each axis. Arcs are converted to curves and primitive surfaces to power surfaces by default.

To non-uniformly scale an object:

  1. Select the objects to scale.
Tip: To scale a workplane with the objects, select the workplane after starting selecting the scale option.
  2. Click Edit tab > Transform panel > Scale.

The Scale toolbar and the scale origin marker are displayed.

  3. Move the scale origin as required.
  4. To keep the original object, click .
  5. From the drop-down list, select Non-Uniform. The toolbar is updated to show scale factor boxes for X, Y and Z:

  6. Enter a scaling factor for each axis.
Tip: If scaled arcs are to remain as arcs, use the Uniform option
  7. To lock the scaling factor of any axis to 1, click on the appropriate lock button.
  8. Click Apply to accept the changes or Cancel .
