Schedule view templates are view templates that apply to schedules, material take-offs, sheet lists, view lists, note blocks, and views created from an assembly.
Schedule views are created and modified as any other view in Revit. This includes being transferred with project standards. However, there are a few unique features that make them different.
Parameter compatibility. When you apply or assign a schedule view template, only compatible parameters will be available to the target schedule. For example, applying a schedule view designed for rebar will not match the parametric needs of a structural framing material takeoff. Only those parameters compatible to the target will be applied. Note that Appearance and Phase Filter parameters are available whether or not the views are compatible.
View template properties. The following parameters are available in the Properties palette of the schedule view and the View Templates dialog: Fields, Filter, Sorting/Grouping, Formatting, Appearance, Phase Filter, and Visibility/Graphics Overrides. When you assign a schedule view template, compatible parameters are unavailable in the Properties palette as the template controls their values. Only incompatible parameters are available in this case. Edit compatible parameters in the schedule view template.
Also note that this applies to schedule view templates assigned to schedule types.
Visibility/Graphics Overrides. If linked models, nested linked models, and/or design options are implemented in the model, they will have override parameters available to the schedule. When accessed in the View Template's dialog, these are listed as separate parameters: V/G Overrides RVT Links and V/G Overrides Design Options.
Apply multiple schedule templates. You can apply a schedule view template to a schedule with a view template previously applied. You will be warned that only properties not currently controlled by a template will be available to the new template application. This will add to the currently applied template and not override it.
