Edit the Dimensions or Connectors for a Fabrication Part

Edit a fabrication part in Revit to define the necessary dimensional values and connector settings.

The Edit Part tool opens the Edit Part dialog. Use this dialog to edit dimensions and connectors for a fabrication part. You can modify only properties associated with connectors that are not connected to another part.

You can edit a part before you place it by selecting it in the MEP Fabrication Parts palette. You can also edit a part after it has been placed in the drawing area. The Edit Part tool is not available for hangers.

  1. Select the part you want to edit.
  2. Click Modify | Place Fabrication Part tabOptions panel(Edit Part).
  3. Tip: You can also double-click the part to edit it.

The preview pane displays the edited part. Use the ViewCube navigation tool to change the orientation of the part in the preview pane.

  4. In the Edit Part dialog, edit the properties on the Dimensions tab or the Connectors tab. For example, you can edit the value of the angle for a radius bend.

You can edit the specification for a pipe connector in the fabrication configuration to allow Revit to automatically apply a connector based on the preferred connector setting of the part that is placed. See Configure Connectors in the Autodesk Fabrication Help.

  5. Click Apply to preview the changes.
  6. Click OK to save the changes.
