Easily propagate a selected standard steel connection or parametric cut in the current project.
The selected connection will be applied everywhere in the model, where an identical context is found.
Before propagating a connection, consider the following:
- You can only propagate standard steel connections and parametric cuts. Generic connections and custom steel connections cannot be propagated.
- Propagation only works on visible elements.
- The propagation tool does not create a connection on an input situation if another connection is already there.
- Propagation only works for steel input elements. If a connection has a non-steel element as one of its input elements - for example a concrete element for a base plate connection between a column and a footing, the propagation command will not be available.
To propagate a standard steel connection:
- Select a
standard steel connection.
- Right-click and select Propagate Connection from the contextual menu.
- The selected connection is recreated on the similar input situations in the current project.
Propagation is based on:
- The number of input elements.
- The structural type of the input elements - beam or column.
- The section type of the input elements.
- The relative geometrical position between the input elements:
- The connection area - on or off the element start/end.
- The position of the flange or web.
- The angle between the input elements.
- The alignment of the input elements.
The standard steel connection will be propagated with the same family, type and specific connection instance parameters (Override Connection Type Parameters and Modify Parameters).
Note: The stiffener connection cannot be propagated.
