When documenting models in Revit, you can add text notes to a drawing. In some cases, the special characters you want to use may not be readily available. You can place these characters in several ways.

While editing the text note, place the cursor where you want to insert the special character, and right-click. On the context menu, select Symbols. Select from the list of commonly used symbols to insert at the cursor location.

If the required character or symbol needed is not on the list, click Other to open the Windows Character Map. Select the font used in your text note. Within a text note, you can't use different fonts for text and symbols. They must match. Navigate to the desired character and click it.

Some common symbols and characters have keystroke strings which can be used for insertion at the cursor location. Click Select. Click Copy.

Any characters in the Characters to copy field are now on your clipboard. In the text note box, right-click and select Paste to enter the special characters.

Enhance annotations by adding symbols and special characters to text notes in the drawing area without interrupting your workflow.
