Replace duplicate parts

Replaces duplicate parts within the selected assembly.

Replace parts from the Assembly environment

  1. Perform the search for duplicate parts.
  2. Select a search results group from the Search Results list.

  3. Click the button next to desired part.
  4. Select Replace All from the menu.

    If you performed a search within the assembly or subassembly, all the part occurrences in the selected assembly or subassembly level as well as the sub levels inside are replaced.

    If you performed a search for a part, all the part occurrences in the assembly and subassembly level of the selected part which it belongs to, as well as the sub levels are replaced.

    Not all search results are exactly similar duplicates (click here to find our definition of the duplicate parts)> A message is displayed confirming whether you want to replace parts that are not exactly duplicate with the suggested search result.

    Note: Not all instances must be replaces.
  5. A message displays informing you how many instances were replaced. See below for possible reasons why some instances couldn't be replaced. You can manually search the tree list to see which instanced weren't replaced.

Replace parts from the Part environment

The Replace All command isn't available if you perform Duplicate Search in the Part environment.
