To Trim Feature Lines at a Boundary

Use the Trim Feature Lines at Boundary command to trim feature lines within a selected area so that they end precisely at boundary edges defined by other selected objects.

  1. In the Toolspace, on the Toolbox tab, expand SHP Import/Export Utilities Geometry and Breakline Tools. Double-click Trim Feature Lines at Boundary to open the Trim Feature Lines at Boundary dialog box.
  2. Select or define the boundary.
  3. Select the feature line(s) or other linework to trim.
  4. Specify whether to trim inside or outside the boundary.
  5. Select the Retain Property Set Data check box to preserve the property set data on each piece of the trimmed objects.
  6. Select Delete Objects Inside/Outside the Boundary to delete the objects that are completely inside or outside the boundary.
  7. Click OK.
