About Exporting SHP Survey Data from Autodesk Civil 3D

Use the Export Feature Lines to SHP and Export Cogo Points to SHP commands to export data back to shapefiles.

The commands enable you to transfer survey data previously imported from shapefiles and modified in Autodesk Civil 3D to other Autodesk Civil 3D drawings.

Note:

• This export process does not include AutoCAD Map 3D object data.
• The shapefiles created may not match the original shapefile data. During the import process, the original shapefile attributes information may be changed. The value is exported as a text value instead of a number.

Feature Line Export

Use the Export Feature Lines to SHP command to export existing linework in a drawing to a shapefile. Linework that may be exported include feature lines, 2D polyines, or 3D polylines. Selected property set data will be included in the export.

COGO Point Export

Use the Export Cogo Points to SHP command to export points in a drawing to a shapefile. Point objects that may be exported include COGO points and AutoCAD points. Selected property set data will be included in the export.
