Use this dialog box to create SHP file settings to control how feature lines, polylines, and 3D polylines are configured and interpreted in a drawing.
New Feature Line Settings
Creates a new feature line settings file.
Open an Existing Feature Line Settings File
Opens an existing feature line settings file. A feature line settings file can have more than one setting. When you add a setting to an existing file, it is displayed at the bottom of the list.
Save Feature Line Settings
Saves the current feature line settings file.
If the feature line settings file is named, the program saves the feature line settings and does not request a new file name. Use the Save As Feature Line Settings button if you need to save the feature line settings with a different name.
If the feature line settings file is unnamed, the Save Settings File dialog box is displayed and the feature line settings file is saved with the file name.
Save As Feature Line Settings
Saves a copy of the current feature line settings under a new file name.
SHP File
Opens the Open Shapefile Information File dialog box so you can select a shapefile. You can then specify the shapefile attributes in the relevant feature line settings, such as for the Property Set setting.
Current SHP Formatting File Source
Displays the name of the current SHP File used for attributes and data in the individual feature line settings.
Add Feature Line Setting
Creates a new feature line setting and adds it to the bottom of the list of feature line settings.
Delete Feature Line Setting
Deletes the currently selected feature line settings from the list.
Feature Line Settings List
Shows a list of feature line settings in the current feature line settings file.
- Feature Line Setting Name
- Specifies the name of the feature line setting. Feature line setting names do not have to be unique.
- SHP File Name
- Specifies the name format of the SHP file. An asterisk (*) may be used as a wildcard for zero or more characters.
- Priority
- Allows you to control the feature line setting priority. The style priority is used to control which feature line setting should be used if the imported feature line may be applied to more than one feature line setting.
- Site
- Specifies the site name that is assigned to the feature line if a feature line setting match occurs. The feature line is placed in this site when it is inserted into a drawing. If the site does not exist in the current drawing it is created.
- Feature Line Name Format
- Specifies the feature line name format that is assigned to the feature line if a feature line setting match occurs. If a feature line name is already present, a numeric increment is added to the name.
- Style
- Specifies the feature line style that is assigned to the feature line if a feature line setting match occurs. If the feature line style is not present in the current drawing, then the default feature line style is applied.
- Layer Name
- Specifies the layer that the feature line is placed on. If the specified layer exists in the drawing, the feature line is placed on that layer. If the specified layer does not exist in the drawing, the layer is created and the feature line is placed on the specified layer.
- Create Polyline
- Specifies if a 2D polyline is created instead of a feature line. If the Is 3d polyline column is checked, then a 3D polyline is created.
- Is 3d Polyline
- Specifies if a 3D polyline is created instead of a feature line.
- Query
- Specifies the query that is used to determine if the feature line setting should be applied to the imported feature line.
- Property Set
- Specifies the property sets assigned to the feature line. The property set values are based on the SHP file attribute names.
