The Selection Sets panel does not appear in the Object Lister until you load a file that contains a selection set node. If your file does not contain selection sets, see Create Selection Sets. If it does, you can view and edit them as well as create more sets using options in the Object Lister.
Selecting a set in the Selection Set panel does the following:
Highlights the set in a light aqua-blue color.
Highlights the set members in a light blue-gray color in any other selections sets that they are members and in the Layers panel object list.
When you select a set, its members do not get highlighted within the selected set.
Picks the set members in the viewport.
Selecting a set member does the following:
Show or hide selection set members by toggling Visibility on and off option. When Visibility is off, the objects are hidden in the viewport and their names are dimmed in the Selection Set and Layer panels of the Object Lister.
You can pick items to add to existing sets or create a new selection set that includes picked items. Pick items in the viewport, from other selection sets, or from object lists in the Layer panel. When picking objects to add to an existing set or a new set, you may receive warning messages stating that:
This can occur if your pick list includes one or more of the following:
Select the items you want to add.
Right-click Selection Set or an existing selection set, then select Create a Set.
A new selection set is created containing the selected items.
You can create an empty selection set, and then use the Assign Members option to add items to the set.
Select one or more of the set members you want removed.
Use Shift + click or Ctrl + click to select multiple set members.
Right-click and select Remove Members.
You can make a set exclusive so that its members cannot be members of other sets. You cannot make a selection set exclusive if it has members that are in other sets.
To make a selection set exclusive, do any of the following:
Right-click the set and select Exclusive.
Click the Set Exclusivity
icon to the right of the set.
The selection set is now exclusive as indicated by this icon
. Click this icon to make the set inclusive again.
You can open the Information Window for a selected set member. This window lets you view and edit various properties of the object.
Duplicating of a set creates an exact copy of the set and adds it to set list below the source set.
Deleting the set deletes only the set node, but not its members. To delete a set, do either of the following:
