To Attach an Element as an External Reference to a Construct

Use this procedure to attach an element as an external reference to a construct.

1. On the Quick Access toolbar, click Project Navigator .
2. On the Constructs tab, select the element to reference.
3. Reference the element into a construct using one of the following methods:
   • With a construct open in your drawing area, drag the element into the open construct drawing.
   • With a construct open in your drawing area, right-click the element, and click Xref Attach.
   • Right-click, click Attach Element To Constructs, and in the Attach Element to Construct dialog box, select the constructs into which to reference the element, and click OK.

   The element is attached as an external reference to the construct at 0, 0, 0.

   Note: If you cannot see the element, it may be inserted at 0, 0, 0. Use the AutoCAD ZOOM (Extents option) command to display it.
