Click the External Drawings tab or the Favorites tab.
Right-click anywhere inside the FIles section A menu is displayed.
Select File Search. The File Search dialog box is displayed.
In the Search name box, specify the drawing name to search for.
Note:
You can specify multiple names by enclosing each name in quotes and separate them with a comma (,) or a semicolon (;)
You can use the wild cards * (to matches any string) and ? (to match any single character) when specifying the file name.
To narrow your search by date:
Click Date Options to make the Date options section visible.
Specify the date filter.
Note: You can search for drawings modified between a specified range of dates or within a specified number of months or days.
Click Search. AutoCAD Mechanical toolset searches the location you specified and lists the files that are found in the search results area.
In the search results, double-click the file you want. The File highlights in the Structure Catalog.
Note: The search dialog box does not close when you double-click files. You can continue working in the Structure Catalog even though this dialog box is open.
