The AMPOWERDIM command enables you create angular dimensions that measure the angle between two lines or three points. This function also measures the angle that two points on a circle subtend on the center as well as the angle the end points of an arc subtend on the center.
As you create an angular dimension, depending on the quadrant, four possible angles can be measured. The AMPOWERDIM command automatically defaults to the most likely quadrant depending on the position of the crosshairs. Select the Quadrant option to override the default, ensuring that the angle is dimensioned. If the dimension text is outside of the extension lines of the dimension, the dimension line extends automatically.
After you create the first angular dimension, the AMPOWERDIM command lets you create baseline and chain angular dimensions relative to the existing angular dimensions, all within the same command session.
In addition to the AMPOWERDIM command, you can use the AMPOWERDIM_ANG command to create angular dimensions. AMPOWERDIM requires command line options to select angular dimensions. AMPOWERDIM_ANG skips the first selection step, but is identical to AMPOWERDIM in all other aspects.
