About Profile Properties

Set properties of individual profiles either from the Toolspace Prospector tab, or from a profile view.

Profile properties are organized on the tabs of the Profile Properties dialog box.

Information Tab

View or edit the profile name, description, and object style.

Profile Data Tab

View or edit data about the profile. The profile data that can be modified on this tab include the description, update mode, layer, and style.

The update mode specifies whether a surface profile is static or dynamic. The elevation data in a dynamic profile changes to respond to changes in the parent alignment or surface. A static profile displays the elevation data at a particular time, and does not respond to changes in other objects.

Design Criteria Tab

Specify the design criteria file and design check set for the profile. Design criteria can be used if the parent alignment has a design speed applied. The criteria-based design feature enables you to verify that a profile design meets the minimum standards required by your local agency.

Profile Locking Tab

Specify options for anchoring the profile to the alignment. This tab is displayed for layout profiles, profiles created from files, best fit profiles, and profiles created from corridor feature lines. It is not displayed for profiles created from surfaces or for superimposed profiles.

Offset Edge Profiles Tab

Specify information about the other profiles attached to the curb return profile. This tab is displayed for curb return profiles only.

Offset Parameters Tab

Specify information for dynamic offset profiles that are created automatically during intersection object creation.
