To Specify Resource and Assignment Settings for IFC Export

To create and define properties of an IFC resource instance

  1. Click Export IFC Find, and then click Resource and Assignment.

    Alternatively, on the command line, enter ifcresourceassign.

  2. In the IFC Resource and Assignment dialog box, on the Resource tab, expand an IFC resource category (for example, IfcAddress).
  3. On the left pane of the dialog box, right-click on an IFC resource (for example, IfcPostalAddress) and click New.

    This creates a new instance of the selected IFC resource.

  4. On the right pane of the dialog box, specify the properties of the IFC resource instance.
    Note: Some resource instances need to have a value specified in any one of their properties. An error icon is displayed if no property value is defined in that specific resource instance.

    Some properties support multiple entries. Use a semi-colon to separate the entries.

  5. Click Apply.
  6. Click OK.

To assign a resource to an IFC entity

  1. Click Export IFC Find, and then click Resource and Assignment.

    Alternatively, on the command line, enter ifcresourceassign.

  2. In the IFC Resource and Assignment dialog box, click the Assignment tab.
  3. On the left pane of the dialog box, select an IFC entity.
  4. On the right pane, select one or more resources for the selected IFC entity.
  5. Click Apply.
  6. Click OK.

To assign predefined property sets to IfcBuilding

  1. Click Export IFC Find, and then click Resource and Assignment.

    Alternatively, on the command line, enter ifcresourceassign.

  2. In the IFC Resource and Assignment dialog box, click the IfcBuilding tab.
  3. On the left pane of the dialog box, select the property set definitions to be exported.
  4. On the right pane, edit the definitions of the selected property set.
  5. Click Apply.
  6. Click OK.

To define attributes for IfcBuilding

  1. Click Export IFC Find, and then click Resource and Assignment.

    Alternatively, on the command line, enter ifcresourceassign.

  2. In the IFC Resource and Assignment dialog box, click the IfcBuilding tab.
  3. On the left pane of the dialog box, select the Building node.
  4. On the right pane, edit the definitions of the selected property set.
  5. Click Apply.
  6. Click OK.
