Media Export

Poster Frame is back, OpenEXR chromaticity, AVC-Intra loses Legal range, better error reporting, and Write File sets Image Container flag.

AVC-Intra Update

AVC-Intra encoding (MXF) compressors are updated to a more recent version. This version loses the ability to encode in Legal range. All AVC-Intra encoding presets are now set to Full Range encoding.

Better Error Reporting

If the software encounters errors when exporting media, the reporting is now more specific than before, and easier to understand. This should make it easier to troubleshoot an export issue.

OpenEXR Updates

ACES Chromaticity Metadata

When exporting as OpenEXR files content tagged with one of the following ACES color spaces, the chromaticity metadata is now written to the OpenEXR files:

  • ACES2065-1
  • ACEScg
  • Scene-Linear REC709
  • Scene-Linear REC2020
  • Scene-Linear Alexa WideGamut (ARRI)
  • Scene-Linear VGamut (Panasonic)
  • Scene-Linear SGamut3 (Sony)
  • Scene-Linear REDWideGamutRGB (RED)

Version Update

Flame Family now uses OpenEXR SDK 3.1.5. It addresses performance issues when reading and writing OpenEXR media files. For Flame family products, this translates in speed improvements in Media Export and when caching media files.

Files generated with the new SDK are compatible with applications using the OpenEXR SDK 2.x.

Write File Node

When encoding OpenEXR ACES tagged content, the Write File node now correctly sets the ACES Image Container flag.

Poster Frame

The Poster Frame option is back in the File Sequence mode.

File Sequence preset is available in JPEG > Poster Frame JPEG (8-bit).
