Weld calculators design and check butt, fillet, plug, groove, and spot weld joints. You can check the whole range of typical welds loaded with different types of loading. Butt and fillet weld joints can be checked both for static and fatigue loading. You can select the required type of weld joint, the material and the size of the weld, design geometric parameters of the weld joint, and perform the strength check.
Note:
- We do not recommend that you use plug, groove, and spot weld joints under the fatigue loading. The calculations of this joint are not available.
- Origination of sudden brittle fractures, changes in the mechanic values of the material caused by the temperature and residual stress affects, are not taken into account in the calculation. The calculation does not apply to weld joints requiring special standards (for example, pressure vessels, cranes, excavators, piping, and so on). Only nominal stress for the particular loading in a certain section is specified by the calculation. The stress concentrations and internal stresses are not taken into account.
Tip: See the Engineer's Handbook for used calculation formulas for designing weld joints.
