Categories can be created, copied, or edited only in a read/write library.
Create a Category
If you create a category as a subcategory of an existing category, the new category inherits all parameters from the parent category. The inherited parameters cannot be edited, but you can add parameters specific to the subcategory.

- In the Content Center Editor dialog box, select a read/write library in Library View.
- Right-click a category in which to create the subcategory, and select Create Category.
- In the Category Properties dialog box, enter the category name, set category properties, and click OK.

View or Edit Category Properties

- Right-click a category, and click Category Properties to display the Category Properties dialog box.
- On the General tab:
- On the Parameters tab, edit parameters inherited from the upper-level categories and custom category parameters.
- Click Apply to save changes.
Copy Category Structure to a Read/Write Library
Use the Copy Category Structure to command to create customized categories which include only families you use. Copy selected categories and subcategories to a read/write library. Then copy selected families, or add your own families in the existing category structure.

- In the Content Center Editor dialog box, locate the category to copy.
- Right-click the category, click Copy Category Structure To, and select a destination read/write library.
The structure without any content is copied. If needed, click Refresh to refresh the data displayed in the Content Center Editor dialog box.
