Stand-alone User Environment

Migrate earlier versions of Desktop Content

Migrate any legacy Desktop Content user libraries to make them usable in the current version of Inventor. First copy them into the current version of Inventor Desktop Content Library folder, and then run the Update Tool available in the Configure Libraries dialog box to migrate them.

Shared Environment

If you work in a shared content environment, use Autodesk Vault Server as the data storage technology for Content Center libraries.

To run an earlier version side-by-side with the current version of Inventor, you can keep earlier versions working with the corresponding Vault Server version. Install the current version of Autodesk Vault Server on a different machine.
